Eyeing on the 2024 elections, TMC plans to spread its wings

Highlight: TMC to broadcast CM Mamata Banerjee’s Martyrs’ Day speech in various languages in other states.

Targeting 2024 Lok Sabha elections, after the landslide victory in 2021’s West Bengal Assembly polls, the TMC is planning to take the opportunity of its annual event. The party wants to reach out to other states by telecasting CM Mamata Banerjee’s speech in various languages in different states.

Mamata Banerjee’s speech will be telecast on big screens all across West Bengal. Also for the very first time, it will be telecast in other states like Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Tripura, and poll-bound Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.

The CM will address people virtually for a second consecutive year owing to the global pandemic. The CM will originally deliver the speech in Bengali.

According to the TMC spokesperson, they are planning to telecast Banerjee’s speech on giant screens across various districts in Gujarat. The TMC is focusing on Gujarat as assembly elections are due in 2022. Also, Gujarat being PM Modi and Amit Shah’s hometown is of political significance. TMC has already started distributing pamphlets in Gujarati, informing people about the address.

Notably, PM Modi and Amit Shah had taken the lead in BJP’s campaign for West Bengal’s election. So, it is now Mamata Banerjee’s turn to spread the message in Gujarat and other states.

Moreover, TMC is planning similar programs in Uttar Pradesh, which will have its polls the following year.

The CM’s nephew and Diamond Harbour MP Abhishek Banerjee had taken the pledge to spread TMC’s wings in other states to have a PAN-India presence. Recently Mukul Roy came back to TMC from BJP. He has taken the responsibility of spreading TMC’s presence PAN-India.

Mamata Banerjee, a veteran in national politics, is said to visit Delhi after the annual day event. During her visit she plans to meet both old and new friends and also attend parliament sessions.

Speculations are there that the TMC chief will meet Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and other opposition leaders.

Also, she plans to meet President Ram Nath Kovind and PM Modi, if she gets an appointment with them.

Thus, we can say that TMC is all geared up for its annual day celebrations. Also, the party wishes to spread its wings across the country and has its eyes set on the 2024 elections.
