Farmers entered the national capital via the Tikri border.
Reason for Why Farmers are Protesting
Farmers are against the laws since; the state government will not be able to collect the market fee. They believe that the state government will lose the Mandi tax, also a vast source of revenue for them. Therefore, they oppose the bills since passed. Besides, they believe that this law will end the Mandi system and consequently leave them at the pity of corporates.
However, according to the Modi government, these farm bills will help small and marginal farms. These bills will be allowing them to sell and produce outside the mandis. Further, allowing them to sign an agreement with agri-business firms.
Story so Far
