When the world media portrays India in a negative light, Matthew Hayden came up with India’s support. He also banged the media, saying that they should be aware of India’s diversity and challenges.
On the ongoing devastating Covid-19 in India, Matthew Hayden wrote an emotional statement for India. In the IPL, he plays for Chennai Super Kings. However, he slammed the media for portraying India as inept in dealing with the second wave of the pandemic. Furthermore, he stated that because India has a population of 1.4 billion people, adopting anything on a national basis is difficult.
Note from Matthew Hayden
Matthew Hayden said, “I am visiting India for over a decade now. I traveled extensively around the nation but specifically in Tamil Nadu which I refer my Spiritual home. I always admired its leaders who run this diverse & huge nation. People greeted me with love and affection wherever I went, for which I am grateful. I can proudly say that I have seen India up close over the years, which is why my heart breaks to see it in pain”.
Anand Mahindra, an Indian business tycoon, complimented Matthew Hayden for his empathic stance toward India during these trying times.
Hayden is a member of the India-Austrian Council, in case you didn’t know. He also provides advice to the Australian government on trade policies and international relations with India. Hayden referred to India as a “third-world country” in 2008. He faced a lot of backlash as a result of this. He went on to say that he didn’t mean to offend India, but on the contrary, he commented on the fact that the majority of the country’s population lives in poverty.
