Due to COVID-19 pandemic, No guest from foreign will be present at the Republic day 2021 parade on 26 January.
It has been the highlights of the annual event celebrating the country’s diversity at the heart of Delhi.
The ministry of external affairs MEA a spokesperson and Anurag Srivastava said

This is the fourth time in history that no foreign guest will be present on republic day. The last time it had happened was in 1966, and before that in 1953 and 1952.
India has extended an invite to Prime Minister of UK, Boris Johnson to be the guest on Republic day event. He had accepted and confirmed that he will come. Earlier in January 2020, he had informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi of not coming to India. In short, it was due to the new strain of coronavirus which had emerged in the UK.
As of 5 January 2021, Boris Johnson had canceled a trip to India. Boris Johnson spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that morning, to express his regret of not able to visit India.
A Downing Street spokeswoman said, according to Reuters
As national lockdown announced last night and seeing the speed, at which new coronavirus is spreading, the Prime Minister state that it was important for him to remain in the UK so that he can able to focus on the domestic response to the virus.
The choice of Republic day event guest showcases New Delhi closeness with the country.
PM Narendra Modi had invited the president of the US, Barack Obama as the chief guest in 2015. This sent the message of a growing Delhi Washington partnership. In 2018 members of the ASEAN group was invited, creating history since never before 10 Heads of Government/states were present at the parade together.
