With all the unrest surrounding humans. Saudi Arabia came up with a solution to a futuristic city ‘The Line’. It will be developed under the NEOM Project. Therefore, the NEOM project itself is a vision to prioritize the human race facilitating it with the right use of science.
11 January, Sunday – Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman announced the plans to develop ‘The Line City’.
Sustainable development-a much-required approach is significant for human survival along with development for human needs. Science has grown beyond imagination. However, the impacts remain unreckoned.

Specifications about the city (The Line)
A 170 km stretched city with no cars, no streets. Altogether, ensuring no pollution and a focus on reducing space, health issues, and various others developed with urbanization.
A residential area predicted to support 1 million lives.
The city will be designed with a high-tech transportation system. Hence, ensuring reach to every essential within 5 minutes walk. Additionally, traveling from one end to another possible within 20 minutes.
The project will include the usage of robots, other high-tech machinery. Indeed, artificial intelligence will play a critical role.
What makes it special and economical-
- 30 percent less infrastructure cost
- 30 percent of better quality products.
- 100 percent renewable energy.
- Along with Line City, the NEOM project itself is of strategic importance.
About the NEOM Project –
Announced in 2017, it is in the northwest region of the Red sea.
In total the NEOM project is worth $500 billion.
The world population about 40 percent approximately could reach there in less than 4 hours.
Already, 13 percent of trade occurs through the Red sea. Indeed, the location is strategically essential.
Investments are welcomed from around the globe. It will be a business hub. Plus, it shall involve cities, towns with a futuristic approach.
Furthermore, the city’s development will start in the first quarter of 2021. It is expected to be developed by 2030. Moreover, it will be an economic booster. Subsequently, creating more than 3,80,000 jobs of the future. Also, acceptations are that it will contribute to domestic GDP to about $48 billion by 2030.
Undoubtedly, the city seems no less than a dream. Surely, A city that promises to revolutionize the current urban cities without compromising the living standards of humans.
