What does Blog say about Tweets?
The social media platform stated in a blog lately that all the political leaders’ accounts “are not above our rules entirely and cannot use Twitter to incite violence, among other things”.
Examples of Tweets by Twitter
Twitter gave an example of the tweet by US President Donald Trump who more or less is related to the risk of violence.
The first tweet is where President addressed “75,000,000 American Patriots voted for me”. Additionally, he said these 75,000,000 people will have a strong voice in the future.
In the wake of these tweets, the language used in these tweets is against Twitter’s Glorification Violence policy.
Hence, after reading these kinds of tweets by the US President Twitter observed his tweets very closely. As a result, the Tweets are violating Twitter’s Violence Policy. Despite this, these tweets are a threat and can rise to a similar situation that took place on January 6, 2021.
A final statement by Twitter –
“After a close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonalTrumo account and the context around them – specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter – we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence”.
