An Incredible Olympic Debut on the Tokyo Olympics Day-4

India had seen some upsets in the morning hours after Saurabh and Manu failed to qualify for finals. The most anticipated duo showed some good shots but failed to qualify for the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Event finals.

The Indian Men’s hockey team revived the Indian hopes and won against Spain by a 3-0 goal score. This was followed by Achanta Sharath who played against China’s Ma Long. The 39-year old had Ma Long by the throat at an instance. But, couldn’t finish it well! Sharath showed some excellent rallies and made the opponent struggle. However, owing to the position Ma Long holds and age, the third-seeded player won the match.

This match was followed by, what would be called the rise of a new star! Lovlina Borgohain, the 23-year-old boxing sensation bouted her way to the quarters. She defeated the German boxer, who was more experienced. The bout was very close. Lovlina’s advantageous height and agility were an add-on to her hard punches. She will face the Chinese Tapei boxer in the quarter-final. Thus, she is just a step away from an Olympic Medal. Though it will not be easy, Indian hopes do rest on her shoulders too!

The Indian Tennis campaign ended followed by the table tennis campaign today! No other great news came for India!

However, the fact that world-class gymnast Simone Biles pulled out of the Olympics before the final because of medical issues! This came as a heartbreak for all her fans worldwide!

Events To Look Forward To

Indian Women’s hockey team will have their pool match against Great Britain, followed by PV Sindhu in action. The day will also find Archers competing and Sai Praneeth will also play Badminton in the group stages. The last event will be Pooja Rani’s boxing bout in the 75kg weight category! There are many events yet to come and all of the Indian hopes are with the players competing!
