Confirmed: OnePlus Nord 2 5G will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC
It has been a few weeks since the launch of the OnePlus Nord CE. Now, the company has confirmed the launch of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G.
The successor to the 2020 OnePlus Nord, MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI chipset powers the smartphone. The Chinese giant has confirmed the launch of a new Nord smartphone, likely be the OnePlus Nord 2, via an official tweet.
Just like other OnePlus smartphones, the upcoming OnePlus Nord 2 will be exclusive to Amazon India.
The e-commerce platform has already set up a separate landing page for the launch of a new smartphone.
On the page, there is a new promotional punch line “everything you could ask for”, which has been taken from OnePlus Nord CE.
As per the landing page, the company will be launching the new smartphone on July 22 for users in Europe and India. According to a message by Pete Lau, founder, OnePlus, OnePlus Nord 2 5G is “a comprehensive upgrade from the first Nord.”
The company claims Nord 2 5G to have better cameras, performance, and faster charging than the original Nord. Further, it also wants to provide its user with a fast and smooth smartphone experience.
Only time will tell whether they will achieve this feat through the OnePlus Nord 2 5G or not.
According to OnePlus, the new MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI differs from the standard chipset in the AI enhancements. These include AI color enhancement in cameras, AI Resolution Boost technology for better HDR, AI color boost, etc. Other AI features will be seen in the launch. So, stay tuned for that.
OnePlus Nord 2 5G: Rumored Specs and Price
Coming to the specs, the upcoming OnePlus Nord 2 will come up with a 6.43-inch 90Hz AMOLED display with a punch-hole camera.
It shall sport a triple camera setup being 50MP Sony IMX766 as the primary sensor. And possibly an 8MP ultra-wide lens. Further, a 2MP macro lens will also be there for all the close-up shots.
The smartphone will be backed by a bigger 4,500mAh battery with the support of Warp Fast charging. Other specs of the smartphone are unknown as of now. However, the complete features and specs will be announced on the launch of the smartphone on July 22 at 7:30 pm.
