Malvika Sood: Sonu Sood’s sister joined Congress ahead of elections
Malvika Sood (sister of actor Sonu Sood) joined Congress on Monday. Malvika joined the party in the presence of Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi and State Party Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu. However, on 14th February polling will take place and vote counts will be on 10th March.
Navjot Singh Siddhu also met Malvika Sood and her brother, actor Sonu Sood, at their Moga home. “It is highly rare that the party chief and the CM have visited someone’s home to bestow the honour,” Sidhu remarked.
Having said that, CM Channi has expressed interest in electing Malvika Sood to the Moga assembly constituency in the upcoming elections. Furthermore, Sidhu stated, “We are very pleased to see that a young woman who created a name for herself by operating an NGO and dedicating herself to people’s service is joining our party.”
However, the Indian Election Commission just named Sonu Sood as the state icon of Punjab. On the contrary, he stood aside after his sister stepped up to run for the election.
What are your thoughts on whether this move will result in a Congress triumph in Punjab?
