All about the 67th National Film Awards 2021
On October 25, the ceremony of the 67th National Film Awards took place. Kangana Ranaut and Manoj Bajypee were among the other awardees.
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu presented the awards to the winners of the 67th National Film Awards.
Let’s know a bit about the winners:
Best Actress Award
Kangana Ranaut won the Best Actress Award for her movies Manikarnika: the queen of Jhansi and Panga. This is Kangana’s fourth national award. Before this, she won the Best Actress in a supporting role award for her performance in Fashion. And, she won the Best Actress Awards for her brilliant performances in Queen and Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
Kangana wore a beautiful traditional saree for the occasion.
Best Actor Award
Next in line was Manoj Bajyapee, who won the Best Actor Award for his role in Bhonsle. Also, Tamil Actor Dhanush received the Best Actor Award for his movie Asuran.
Apart from these, Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Chhichhore‘ received the Best Hindi Film Award. This movie was late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s last big-screen movie.
Chhichhore, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, was a movie that spoke about suicide. And, the entertainment world lost Sushant Singh Rajput after this movie.
During the event, Tiwari and Nadiadwala spoke fondly about Sushant and dedicated the movie to him. They missed Sushant’s presence during the award ceremony.
The duo also said that Sushant is an integral part of the movie. He made both of us proud and dedicate the award to him.
Also, Vijay Sethupathy received the Best Actor Award in a supporting role for his role in Super Delux.
Superstar Rajnikanth was honored with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Rajnikanth was felicitated with this award for this contribution to the field of entertainment for five decades.
Rajnikanth’s family was present at the ceremony, including his wife Lathaa, daughter Soundarya and son-in-law Dhanush.
The Ministry of Information and broadcasting conducts the National Film Awards to honor the best talents across various film industries in the country. Which includes Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, and several others.
