The mega-development Expressway project connects the capital Lucknow to Eastern UP. It also connects UP to the National Capital via Agra-Lucknow and Yamuna Expressway.

The major districts that fall by the Purvanchal Expressway Corridor are Lucknow, Sultanpur, Amethi, Ayodha, Azamgarh, Mau, Barabanki, and Ghazipur.

According to the Government, the Expressway Corridor will boost the economic development of Eastern parts of UP.

The corridor has 22 flyovers, 7-railway- over-bridges, also known as (ROB). It also has 7 major bridges and 114 minor bridges. And 6 toll plazas, 45 vehicular-underpass (VUP), 139 Light VUP, 87 pedestrian underpasses.

The expressway will also have CNG stations, electric recharge stations, and other facilities.

The Purvanchal Expressway can facilitate the movement of vehicles at the speed of 120 km/per hour. But the speed has been fixed to 100 km/per hour.

As per the government, the expressway will help travelers save fuel and time. Moreover, it will aid in controlling pollution levels and reducing accidents.
