After Twitter suspended 23 handles and 7 accounts of Congress including Rahul Gandhi. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday questions that ” is Twitter doing this under its policy or Modi government’s influence”.
The suspension of Rahul Gandhi’s Twitter account, including 23 other leaders accounts and 7 accounts link to the Congress Party. KC Venugopal and Randeep Surjewala ( senior leaders ), INC handle among those accounts that get suspended.
According to Twitter, the accounts get block because they violated the rules. The accounts that get suspend will restore by the social media platform once the offensive content will get remove. Furthermore, Also reported that. The handles posted the picture of a child victim who got sexually abused. Also posted is the picture of the victim’s family.
As a result, all the supporters of the Congress Party renamed their Twitter handles as‘ Rahul Gandhi’. Also, put up Rahul Gandhi’s profile picture on their accounts as a protest.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra accused Twitter
Congress party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra accused Twitter by saying that, “The social media platform is in the partnership with BJP government, as a result, it is blocking the voice of those demanding justice”. She also questioned that why Twitter did not block the SC Commission account as it tweeted similar pictures.
Derek O’Brien TMC member of parliament also strongly criticized the action for suspending the accounts of senior leaders of Congress and the Indian National Congress account. Also, Shashi Tharoor Congress PM expressed his worry about the action and said “it is important to focus on what happened to the girl and not the pictures.”
On the other hand, social media platforms claim that the rules are there justly for everyone. And Twitter also takes proactive action for all the other accounts that post pictures violating the rules. And our main aim is to protect individuals privacy and safety.
