Two millionaires risking everything to fly into space in their own rockets
Two millionaires are risking everything to fly into space in their own rockets this month in July. The two millionaires are Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson who are vying for the right to travel into space.
According to speculations, Richard Branson will take a flight this month with two pilots and three additional personnel. In contrast to Branson, Bezos will be off to space in 9-10 days. Furthermore, an 82-year-old woman (ready to go into space for the past six decades) and the winner of a $28 million charity auction will accompany Bezos.
Apparently, Bezos’ flight should be the longest, while Branson’s should be the shortest. However, a jet piloted by Branson has already travelled into space three or four times. Bezos, on the other hand, has tested nearly 5-6 times but without a pilot on board. Nonetheless, they are both attempting to send a capsule into space in order to experience a few minutes of weightlessness.
Bezos who is 57 years old stated that since childhood he dreamt of travelling into space in his own rocket. And, as a matter of fact, he is now capable of making that goal a reality. He did, however, resign as Amazon’s CEO in June of last year. He also stated that he is looking forward to travelling into space with his brother on July 20, 2021.
Branson, on the other hand, will celebrate his 71st birthday next week. Before permitting space travellers on board, he stressed that it is critical to journey into space. He went on to say that this isn’t a competition with Bezos.
Let’s see who is the first to reach into space and what their space experience will be like.
