As per recent media reports, e-commerce giant Amazon is planning to accept Bitcoin for online payments soon. The US-based company is preparing to offer the option of paying in Bitcoin by the end of this year. However, the company is also reportedly working on its digital token, reports an anonymous source.
Now, you might think how come Amazon is planning to accept Bitcoin for making the payments. Well, as first reported by City AM, the company’s job listings show a title that says looking for “cryptocurrency and blockchain lead.”
It also elaborates the company’s requirements for a blockchain expert. They’re looking for experts who have “domain expertise in blockchain, distributed ledger, central bank digital currency, and cryptocurrency.” But, as mentioned above, the e-commerce platform is also looking to create its own digital.
Further, the person should possess an “overall vision and product strategy.”

Amazon has been providing a variety of blockchain programs and services under its AWS umbrella. However, this is the first time the tech giant has jumped in to express its interest in cryptocurrencies.
The news story first reported by City AM spoke with a person concerned with this matter. The person has revealed some plans the company will be taking out regarding cryptocurrency:
“This is a full-on, well-discussed, integral part of the future mechanism of how Amazon will work.” So, we can say that the company is looking to take Bitcoin as the method of payment very soon. Well, it’s a piece of good news for those people who trade in cryptocurrency.
