GHI REPORT ANOTHER PANDEMIC CRISIS: INDIA LEFT BEHIND PAK & BANGLADESH

During the prevailing times of pandemic, another crisis is here India to get down in his ranking in GHI Report 2021. Previously, India was in the rank of (94) in the Global Hunger Index Report in the year 2020 subsequently, to this India has fallen down to the rank of (101) in the Global Hunger Index Report.

India has fallen down to (101) position in this year (2021) says the GHI report

Among the (116) countries in the list of (GHI) report. Also leaving behind his neighboring countries Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal in the Global Hunger Index Report.

Neighboring countries are far better at feeding their citizen: GHI Report said

Countries like Nepal (76), Bangladesh (76), Myanmar (71) and Pakistan (92) too even being at the lower ranking.

These far better are much better in feeding their people with comparison to India according to GHI Report. Although, these countries are also in ‘alarming’ hunger category as registered.

According to GHI Report: We cannot achieve low level of hunger by the year 2030

Due to pandemic that hit us in 2019 and consequence paid with the pandemic restrictions,

India is now one of the highest country with child wasting rates (children under the age of five who have low weight according to their height, showing the acute malnutrition) globally says by the report.

Clearly, the fight against hunger of the world is not in the track

And the situation to be worsen because of COVID-19.

According to the current statics of GHI, we will globally fail to achieve the low hunger rate by the year 2030.

Indicators India have shown Improvement for

Adding to the further report India has shown improvement in some of the factors like the under-5 mortality rate, prevalence of stunting among children and prevalence of undernourishment owing to inadequate food.
