World Unity Days as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Birth Anniversary

India celebrates October 31 as National Unity Day to pay tribute to revolutionary veteran Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was also the country’s Home Minister, whose contribution to persuading many princely states to join the union of India after independence remains particularly notable.
