Why did Amit Shah claim Netaji & Sardar Patel didn’t get due recognition and respect?

On Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah claimed that there were deliberative attempts to belittle the contributions of many well-known leaders. Moreover, Netaji and Sardar Vallabhai Patel also haven’t received due recognition and respect.

Besides, the contribution of both Netaji and Sardar Patel is immortal in the hearts of every Indian.

Why did Amit Shah address the topic?

Amit Shah was inaugurating several projects in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

While attending the inauguration ceremony in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Amit Shah stated that the land should be the center of the pilgrim of the Indian National Movement. Furthermore, the youth of our country should know about the sufferings of ‘Kala Pani’ punishment our leaders faced.

Shah elaborated saying that the Islands are of vital importance for patriots. Why? As it was on this soil that Netaji first hoisted the Tri-Colour Flag in 1943. And Subash Chandra Bose kept it free from British rule for two years till the year 1945.

Similarly, Sardar Vallabhai Patel fought for the country but didn’t get due recognition and respect.

Keeping the great leaders from the due recognition and respect for years was a deliberative attempt to belittle their contributions.

What remedy BJP has to offer?

According to Amit Shah, the BJP government, under the visionary leader PM Narendra Modi attempts to undo the deliberative attempts.

The first step towards the cause is by erecting the Statue of Unity of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Gujarat. And, the second step is declaring 23 of January, the date of birth of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, as a national holiday.

What will be the future steps?

Amit Shah announced that 14 projects worth Rs 299 crores have been inaugurated. These projects will honor the contributions of the great freedom fighters of India.

Furthermore, the bridge will be called Azad Hind Fauj Bridge.  It will be honoring the 35,000 km world tour for India’s Freedom Struggle.

Also, Shah undertook an aerial survey of Ranilakshmi Bai Island, Shaheed Island Eco-tourism Project, and Swaraj Island Water Aerodrome.

Key Takeaway:

We owe India’s freedom to many great leaders. They have dedicated their lives to India’s struggle for Independence.

Two prominent names in the list are Sardar Patel and Netaji. They deserve recognition and respect for their contribution. Indeed a good step by the central government.
