Netflix Gaming Will be Free of Cost for Existing Subscribers
Popular US-based streaming giant, Netflix, is gearing up to bring Netflix Gaming to its existing subscribers free of cost.
As per a recent Bloomberg report, the company is looking to expand its business in the gaming industry. And to achieve this vision, the company has hired former Electronic Arts (EA) executive Mike Verdu.
For those unaware, Verdu has been a part of the team that has developed popular games like Plants vs. Zombies, Sims, and Star Wars. Further, he will report directly to Netflix CEO Greg Peters, said the Bloomberg report.
Now, you might imagine for which platform the company is developing the games under Netflix Gaming. Well, as of now, the streaming platform will be targeting mobiles games. However, in the near future, it might expand to PC games and compete with cloud gaming platforms like Amazon Luna and Google Stadia.
Enjoy Mobiles Games with Netflix Gaming
But the question is how do we play the games? Do we have to download a separate app for that? Well, as per the information available right now, the company will be offering the games through its current platform.
So, it means you expect a separate section in the Netflix app to play mobile games. It may appear next to the collection of the best TV series and Netflix Hindi movies.
So, being a subscriber, you can enjoy these games without any additional cost, which is great news. If Netflix wants to compete with other gaming platforms through Netflix Gaming, they have to provide lucrative offers. This may help the streaming platform garner more subscribers in the coming times.
According to the latest data, Netflix has more than 209 million subscribers worldwide. The company wrote that through Netflix Gaming, it will be “primarily focused on games for mobile devices.”
Earlier in 2019, the company has launched the Stranger Things game for Android and iOS. But since then, there was no expansion in the gaming portfolio.
As of now, we only know this much information about the upcoming Netflix Gaming. However, in the coming days and weeks, we can expect more details to be shared by the company.
So, how you do feel about the new video games addition to Netflix? Would you try out the games on Netflix after its launch? Or you will not bother about it and enjoy the TV series and movies. Do share your thoughts below.
